Bears in control over Jaguars in London

The Jaguars are down at halftime in London to rookie Caleb Williams and the Bears.

Williams tossed a 31-yard touchdown pass in busted coverage and has Chicago in front of Jacksonville 14-3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jacksonville is trying build off its first win of the season last week against the Colts.

Trevor Lawrence had a touchdown throw on third down dropped in the end zone by Gabe Davis. They settled for a 30-yard field goal from Cam Little to get on the scoreboard. It was waste of a beautiful drive, a 14-play, 67-yard march that chewed up more than 10 minutes.

Jacksonville has bounced back early on defense. It held Chicago to 7 yards in the first quarter, tied for the ninth fewest in the first quarter in franchise history. The defense was gashed on a couple of plays in the first half, a 31-yard throw from Williams to Cole Kmet that the tight end stretched into a touchdown and a 7-3 lead. But it bounced back after that for its first interception of the season, a pick by Andre Cisco at the 7 that denied Chicago almost-certain points. It was the first interception of the season for the Jaguars.

Williams bounced back on Chicago’s final drive of the half, including a pair of runs that ate up 43 yards and put the Bears in scoring range. He tossed a 2-yard touchdown to Kmet with 17 seconds before halftime for the 14-3 lead.
