Last Sunday, from two different continents, we listened to both New York football head coaches fall on a sword neither had any business falling onto.
In Germany, after a 20-17 overtime loss to the Panthers, there was Giants head coach Brian Daboll taking blame for a failed flea flicker that was perfectly executed by everyone — except for the person who was supposed to throw the ball, his quarterback Daniel Jones.
After the game, when Daboll was asked what he saw on the play, he answered: “Yeah, I wish I had it back. I wish I had it back. Didn’t work.’’
“There were guys open, though?’’ he was asked as a follow-up.
