JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After one of the worst losses in franchise history in front of a national audience on “Monday Night Football,” Jacksonville Jaguars fans were furious.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen ruthlessly carved up the Jaguars defense and the offensive was sad in a 47-10 Buffalo blowout. The Jaguars are now 0-3 to start the season for the seventh time in franchise history.

Following the brutal loss, News4JAX asked fans for their reactions. Dozens of people responded and there was plenty of blame to go around.
“TERRIBLE JUST TERRIBLE,” Arliss Walker said.
“Awful. Embarrassing. Why are we building a billion dollar stadium for that?” one fan wrote.
“Cancel the rest of the season. Fire the entire coaching staff. Snatch Trevor’s 250 million dollar contract. Put all preparation for the new stadium on hold. Go back to 1995 and restart from the beginning. The team is bad,” Billy Hines said.
“I’d love to call out the playcalling, but who the hell knows if the plays work because the execution is so bad. Every year we “upgrade” the skill positions, but never address the core issue—the offensive line is abysmal,” one reader wrote. “This team has other deficiencies, but I’m tired of typing.”
“A 19 year season ticket holder, I am disappointed in the play of our offense. Defense didn’t look good tonight,” another reader wrote.
While the defense was gashed by Buffalo (3-0), the focus, fair or unfair, always shifts back to franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The team handed him a $275 million contract extension in the offseason and he’s responded with the worst statistical start in his career. He’s now lost eight consecutive starts and taken substantial steps backward since the high point, the second half of the 2022 season.
Lawrence was benched in favor of backup quarterback and Jacksonville native Mac Jones who proceeded to fumble on his first pass attempt. He finished the game 5-of-8 for 22 yards.
Still, some fans said it’s time to start Jones over Lawerence.
“Some immediate changes need to be made with offensive coach and players!!! Lets try Mac Jones!!! Let’s see what he can do,” Tammie said.
“Too many problems to fix in one season, chalk it up. Bench Trevor put him on the tablet let the game slow down and teach him how to go through his progressions and make smart decisions. Let everyone else play it out, find out who wants to be here,” one fan said.
“Growing up in the shadow of Raymond James stadium I fully understand what true Jag fans are feeling. It’s starting to really look like Trevor was a bad buy but, if we don’t shore up the trenches we may never know,” another reader said.
Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson was noncommittal on Lawrence after the loss and didn’t rule out anything when it comes to making changes.
“I mean, you say everything is on the table, we got to take a look at injury,” he said. “You know, tonight we had some guys injured. Could be moved that way. Could be performance. It’s all things we have to evaluate as we move forward.”
Despite how bleak it may look, some fans are holding out hope.
“Tough loss for the Jags today. Still plenty of season left. I am an optimist for reasons unknown. I am of the firm belief, with the talent they possess, they will be heard from and respected,” News4JAX Insider rickyfin wrote.
“They will bounce back!!! But if they don’t, it will be a long sad season. 😔,” Jeanie Monk said.
