JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars and Liam Coen are still in talks about the team’s vacant head coaching job, and Jacksonville is getting an assist from its hall of famer in the process.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Jaguars were meeting with Coen in person on Thursday to take over the role held by Doug Pederson.
Plot twist: #Bucs OC Liam Coen has been speaking with the #Jaguars in person for their HC job, and he is a key candidate to be the coach in Jacksonville, per me and @TomPelissero.

According to NFL on CBS reporter Jonathan Jones, Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Boselli is assisting in Jacksonville’s head coaching search. Boselli has had an interest in a front office role with the team that drafted him in 1995 for some time, but this is believed to be the first time he’s had a hand in any type of operations decision.
Pro Football Hall of Famer and Jaguars legend Tony Boselli is now part of the Jags coaching search process, sources tell @NFLonCBS. Boselli has been added to aid in the process with GM Trent Baalke no longer with the team.

That news comes a day after the Jaguars and general manager Trent Baalke parted ways. Owner Shad Khan said in a statement that an immediate separation was needed, and thanked Baalke for his work.
It was a 180 from what Khan said after he fired head coach Doug Pederson on Jan. 6. Khan said that he didn’t think by retaining Baalke that it made Jacksonville’s job less desirable. After 10 interviews, Jacksonville had seen candidates Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn take different jobs. Another candidate, Liam Coen, withdrew his name from consideration, and was rumored to be heading back to Tampa Bay.
