Roughly 72 kilos of cocaine was found following a cease and search within the Allenwood space of Kildare

Two males have been arrested following a seizure of €5m (£4m) price of cocaine in County Kildare.

On Wednesday, gardaí (Irish police) stopped and searched a car and a residential property within the Allenwood space of Kildare and roughly 72kg of cocaine was found.

The boys, aged of their 50s and 60s, had been arrested in relation to facilitating and enhancing drug distribution actions for an organised crime group.

They had been subsequently charged and are due earlier than Naas District Court docket on Thursday.

Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis of Organised and Severe Crime stated it “is one other vital seizure of cocaine destined for the Irish market”.

“An Garda Síochána and our regulation enforcement companions are dedicated to focusing on these engaged in drug associated organised crime that results in hurt, intimidation and violence in our communities nationwide.”
