JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A busy Week 7 of the high school football season is all but in the books, with one very big game left on the schedule.
Area teams largely put Week 7 to bed on Friday night with a heavy slate of games, headlined by wins from four Super 10 teams. No. 1-ranked Raines is the last Super 10 team with a game, with Saturday’s Northwest Classic showdown against Ribault on deck.
In a small school battle of unbeatens, Union County got three rushing touchdowns from Drew Simmons to race by Zarephath Academy 47-14. The Tigers (6-0) had no trouble slowing the high-scoring Eagles (7-1), who have been one of the most prolific passing attacks in the country.
Due to Hurricane Helene, there were more than a dozen games Monday night, including No. 2 Nease’s 20-17 overtime win over Buchholz.
