Joe Burrow gave Bengals offensive linemen katana swords as holiday gifts

Joe Burrow wins the award for best gift-giver this holiday season.

The Bengals quarterback gave his offensive line authentic Japanese katanas, each with unique backstories, according to The Athletic

Burrow placed the swords in a room and gave his linemen the chance to choose their own.

“Joe does a great job at buying gifts that are extremely meaningful,” tackle Orlando Brown told the outlet. “The fact that he bought me a sword, it’s the most ancient form of respect.”

Burrow is certainly no stranger to unique purchases.

The QB purchased a replica Batmobile at a cost of nearly $3 million dollars, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that he splurged to find a special gift for the group entrusted with protecting him on the field.

The Bengals are in the middle of a 6-8 season but are still holding onto some hope that they can make the postseason.

Cincinnati would need to win its final three games and receive some outside help in order to sniff the playoffs.

For his part, though, Burrow has had a successful season by throwing for an NFL-leading 3,977 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Burrow has also been in the headlines after his house was broken into while the Bengals were facing the Cowboys on “Monday Night Football” on Dec. 9.

The story took a turn when it appeared that the break-in also publicly exposed a relationship with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Ponton, who was the one who called 911.

“They have been hooking up since the early fall and are keeping it casual,” a source told People this week about Burrow and Ponton’s relationship.
