The Related Press reported that Dell captured the second on video and inspired his son to remain calm.

“Keep calm, keep calm,” the daddy was heard saying in Spanish after his son was launched from the whale.

“I assumed I used to be lifeless,” Adrián instructed the AP. “I assumed it had eaten me, that it had swallowed me.”

He described the few seconds of “terror” to the wire service, explaining that his actual worry set in after resurfacing, fearing that the whale would harm his father or that he would die within the chilly waters.
