Prosecutor quits after refusing DOJ order to toss case

A high federal prosecutor in New York and a senior Division of Justice official resigned Thursday after refusing a DOJ order to dismiss the pending felony case in opposition to Mayor Eric Adams.

Danielle Sassoon, the performing U.S. Legal professional for the Southern District of New York, was the primary to refuse to toss ouit the case in opposition to Adams, who was indicted final fall, NBC Information reported.

After Sassoon refused, the matter was reassigned to the performing head of the DOJ’s Public Integrity Part, who additionally refused to dismiss the case after which give up, NBC reported.

The felony case in opposition to Adams has not been dismissed as of Thursday afternoon.
