Former Bulldogs defensive lineman Bill Goldberg and cornerback Mike Fisher and ex-Gators stars Fred Weary and linebacker Mike Peterson were inducted into the hall.
Weary, a Mandarin High School graduate, played for Florida from 1994-97 and helped the Gators win the 1996 national championship. He had six of his 15 career interceptions as a senior.
Peterson played in Gainesville from 1995-98 and also played on the same national title team as Weary. He played 14 years in the NFL including a stint with the Jaguars.
Goldberg was a two-time All-SEC defensive tackle and went 3-1 against the Gators during his time in Athens. He’s better known for his prowess in the wrestling ring where he was a world champion wrestler in WWE. He was inducted into that hall of fame in 2018. He said on Friday that Saturday would be his first time in the stands as a fan.
Fisher, like Weary, played high school football in town (Bolles) and walked on to Georgia. He was 3-0 against the Gators from 1978-80.
