There wasn’t any holiday spirit between the Ravens and Texans before their Christmas Day clash.
Texans running back Joe Mixon and Ravens backup quarterback Josh Johnson got into a shouting match and had to be separated multiple times before the heavily anticipated matchup between AFC heavyweights that ended in a lopsided 31-2 win for Baltimore.
A Texans assistant coach was hit by an errant punt from Ravens kicker Jordan Stout, Steve Wyche reported on the Netflix broadcast.
That prompted Mixon to punt the ball up into the stands.
The broadcast then showed Mixon going after Stout, being separated by multiple players and staffers, and Johnson subsequently coming toward him and shouting.
Mixon is in his first season with the Texans and entered Wednesday with 967 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.
He was held to 26 yards on nine carries in the loss.
Johnson is in his first year back with the Ravens after previously spending time with the team in 2021.
The backup came in during the fourth quarter and completed 1 of 2 passes for 16 yards.
Stout, for his part, is in his third season with the Ravens.
