Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov have been a Russian determine skating pair who competed in a number of Olympic Video games and medaled in a number of world championships.
The Kremlin stated Thursday the determine skating stars have been amongst these aboard an American Airways flight that collided with a U.S. Military helicopter close to Reagan Worldwide Airport on Wednesday evening.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated Shishkova and Naumov have been on the airplane.
“Sadly, we see that this unhappy info is being confirmed. There have been different fellow residents there. Dangerous information in the present day from Washington. We’re sorry and ship condolences to the households and buddies who misplaced these of our fellow residents who died within the airplane crash,” he stated.
It was Naumov’s coach who launched the pair in 1985, wanting them to work collectively regardless of Naumov rebuffing the concept at first. They started to work collectively in 1987 and competed and gained bronze within the 1991 European Championships whereas representing the previous Soviet Union. The pair would go on to win two extra bronze and silver medals within the occasion.

Shishkova and Naumov earned accolades on the world stage as effectively. On the 1993 World Championships, the 2 earned a bronze medal. The next 12 months in Chiba, Japan, the 2 picked up their first gold medal. They completed with a silver in 1995 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The pair competed within the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France, and the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. They completed in fifth in 1992 and fourth in 1994.
Shishkova and Naumov married in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1995, they usually moved to Connecticut. That they had a son, Maxim, who competed in males’s singles within the U.S.
